FAREWELL DANCE.

RETURN FOR HOSPITALITY.

CHILEAN OFFICERS ENTERTAIN

In appreciation of the efforts made by Auckland citizens for the entertainment of the officers of the Chilean training ship General Baquedano, a dance was given by the commander and officers of the ship in the Peter Pan Cabaret last evening. A brilliant scene was presented in the ballroom, where the naval uniforms and charming frocks provided an attractive note of colour in the glow of the artistically shaded lights. Bowls of golden daffodils and jonquils were arranged on the tables surrounding the dancing floor and also on the tables in the supper room. On arrival the guests were received by Captain Luis Alvarez, Captain 0. Merino, Mr. E. A. Craig, consul for Chile, and Mrs. Craig. Mrs. Craig wore a draped frock of shell pink georgette embroidered on the corsage with crystal beads.
