REVIEW OF PAST YEAR
The annual meeting of the New Zealand division of the Australasian Institute of Secretaries, held yesterday, was presided over by the president, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, Mayor of Auckland. The report of the New Zealand Council ftated that the past year had been one of satisfactory progress, particularly when consideration was given to the, severe financial depression. After expending £35 -n assisting two members affected by the Hawke's Bay,, earthquake disaster, there remained a small excess of revenue, which
brought the accumulated funds to £314. » There were 170, mem hers on the divisional ' roll at the end of the year. A branch tad been established at Wellington. Messrs. A. R. Hut chines and W. R. Mnthieson, both of Wellington, had obtained first and second places respectively Australia/ and New Zealand at the Sent ember examinations. It was announced that the Australasian wOuld be held in Auckland in December. The follow ;jng council was elected:— Messrs. Hutchison. H. B. Burnett, L. C. H. Dawson, T. E. Whittop, G. O'Halloran, N. Porter, J. M. Stokes (sitting rne-mbers), J. Ward, H. G. Thomson and H. B. Harper (new members). Mr. H. . eaauan was reappointed auditor.
