OBITUARY.
MRS. E. A. REIN,
The death occurred on Monday of Mrs. E. A. Rein, widow of the late Mr. N. J. M. Rein, of Invercargill, aged 70. Mr. Rein, who was a ccusin of the late Sir Joseph Ward, and was brought up with him, was well-known to many prominent Aucklanders. The late Mrs. Rein is survived by four sons and four daughters. Her eldest son is a wellknown surgeon-dentist in New York, the second is an engineer in England, the third a well-known farmer at Wallacetown, and the fourth on the staff of J. E. Watson, Limited, Invercargill. Three of her daughters are at homo and the fourth is the wife of Mr. J. G. Stewart, stationmaster at Pukekohe. MRS. T. J. RIDDLE. • News has been received in Auckland of the death at the age of 91 of Mrs. T. J. Riddle, widow of a well-known Presbyterian minister, and mother of the Rev. T. E. Riddle, missionary of the Punjab, India. Mrs. Riddle had recently been living with her son, Mr. Armstrong Riddle, of Hatuma, Waipukurau, and passed away there on Sunday evening. Until her husband's death in 1909 Mrs. Riddle was closely associated with him in all his activities throughout the years of his ministry at Waiuku, at Wairoa, Hawke's Bay. at Rakaia and finally at tlue home mission charge at Papanui. She was much given to hospitality, and was greatly beloved for her helpful kindness wherever there was need. During the recent furlough of her son from India she lived with him for a year at Devonport. Her eldest son, Mr. James Riddle, is in business in Wellington.
