LABOUR CABINET'S FALL.
PARTY leaders at palace, A NATIONAL GOVERNMENT. MR. MacDQMALD AT THE HEAD. ' ! After having been in office for over two years, the Labour Government in Britain has resigned. The fall of the Ministry has been precipitated by the recent disclosure of the serious state of the national finances and the failure of the Government to reconcile its supporters to practicable plans for the reduction of expenditure. Developments in the last few days have disclosed a division in the Ministry and strong opposition by the industrial wing of the Labour organisation to economy proposals submitted by the Government. An extraordinary series of Cabinet meetings and conj ferences between Ministers and leaders of the other parties was continued until late on Sunday night, but efforts to find any other solution of the crisis failed, and the Government's resignation was announced on Monday. Steps are being taken to form a National Government to deal with the financial crisis. Mr. Mac Donald will retain the office of Prime Minister and Mr. Baldwin has agreed to serve under him.
