SYDNEY'S SHOT.
Sydney took a shot to-day At a little fledgling bird. " Cruel bov!" I hear you say— Wait a bit until you've heard How he did it. First, you see Sydney crept up slyly, near To the gnarled old apple-tree Where a nest was built this year.
There, upon a slender twig Clear, against the blue spring sky Perched a birdling just so big, Making up its mind to fly. Sydney made a lucky shot"Killed it? No, it liked the fun, 'Twas a snapshot that he got/ With a kodak, not a gun!
