CYCLE RACE TROUBLE.
ONE MAN SUSPENDED. INCIDENTS IN "CANTERBURY. [by telegraph.— press association.] CHEISTCHURCH. Friday. Trouble that occurred at the 50-mile teams cycle race, organised by the Papanui Amateur Sports Club last Saturday, resulted in M. F. Pearl being suspended indefinitely and G. R. Giles, junr., being severely cautioned. R. F. Dunlop and H. C. Basher were ordered to apologise before being allowed to ride again. Pearl and Giles, it was alleged at a meeting of the Canterbury Athletic Centre, not being competitors, rode with teams and interfered with the running of the race.
