ORUA BAY WHARF.
EXTENSION NOT APPROVED.
No action is to bo taken by the Auckland Harbour Board in regard to a request from settlers at Orua Bay, on the Manukau Harbour, for the lengthening of the wharf in order to allow launches to operate at all states of tho tide. The decision was made on Tuesday on tho recommendation of the Financo Committee. Tho engineer, Mr. D. Holdorness, had reported to the committee that soundings taken in the bay indicated that an extension of the wharf by 400 ft. would still be inadequate.
