METHODS OF POLICE.
I STUDY IN ENGLISH FORCE. SERGEANT DOYLE RETURNS. (Received August 17, 9.15 p.m.) SYDNEY. August 17. After spending some months in England studying police methods, DetectiveSergeant P. Doyle, of New Zealand, reached Sydney to-day. Mr. Dovle said ho had found that New Zealand had nothing much to learn from England in ordinary police work, but he impressed by the elaborate system oi patrol cars in most of the English cities. Detective-Sergeant Dovlo, who is stationed at Auckland, left early in, March a health trip to„ England. Ife is expected back bv the Niagara, which is due a t-Auckland . from Sydney on Monday.
