Auckland Grammar School defeated the Hamilton High School by nine points to nil in a match played at Rugby Park today before" a fair gathering of spectators. The hopes entertained that a good game would be witnessed were not realised, the strong: westerly wind completely spoiling any efforts to make the game open and interesting There were frequent, interruptions through accidents. That Grammar's score was not considerably higher was due to Hamilton's spoiling tactics, which negatived many promising attempts to seore. In the first half, Hamilton had the advantage ot the wind and for a time Auckland ivas defending Slyfield had a penalty shot at *oal. but missed From a loose scramble Currey gathered in and dived over near the :orner. Slyfield'a shot went wide. Currey accepted a pass, and, having a clear ield from the half-way line, scored an ascellent try near_ the posts. Robinson's <ick failed.
