DISABLED SOLDIERS.
RE-ESTABLISHMENT SCHEME. RAISING REQUIRED £SOOO. [BY TELEGRAM!. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, "Wednesday. In order to enable the Disabled Soldiers' Re-establishment Act to bo put into operation tho Government has asked that £SOOO bo made available by the interested parties before it takes action. Tho Canteen Trust Fund Board has agreed to find £2OOO, the War Funds Council to provide £ISOO, and the Red Cross Society throughout New Zealand has been asked to provide £ISOO. At a meeting of the executive of the Wellington branch of the Red Cross Society it was unanimously agreed that the branch should contribute its proportionate share toward the sum required. The Canterbury, Auckland and Otago branches are still considering the matter. The Act, provides for facilities to be given for the vocational training of disabled and partially-disabled soldiers so that they can supplement their incomes.
