THE WRITERS' CLUB.
"With the president, Mrs. I. M. Cl.uett, presiding, the weekly meeting of the Writers' Clnb took place on Friday afternoon. There was a large attendance of members. Iho subject for the afternoon was short articles contributed upon a social problem of the day. Several members chose the unemployment problem, its different aspects, and remedy. Two mem bers threw a new light upon the problem of hawkers, and the man at the door "Something for Nothing," "The New Diana," ''Mental Deficients/' "Use of Leisure," "How Are We, Relating to Dietetics ?" were some of the other subjects presented. 'lhe articles were all of a high standard, and showed thoughtful preparation. Among members who submitted work were: Slesdames Ryburn, Buchanan. Burke, Crump, Douse, Everton, Evans, Gilbert, Oliver, Miss Roach (country member). Discussion followed by afternoon tea concluded the afternoon.
