Sir, —Tho new departure by private offices mentioned by "Actuarius" is dictated by present economic conditions. Still it means differential rates which is—or should bo —contrary to tho practice of life offices generally. Tho great mass of policy-holders in all offices who pay annual, half-yearly and quarterly premiums may view the innovation in that light. Ex-Civil Servant.
