ALLCOTT BOWLS WELL. CROMB GOOD ALL ROUND. By Telejtrnph—Press Association—Copyright. (Special' to N.Z. Press Association.) SUNDERLAND. July 20. The match between the New Zealand cricketers and Durham ended in a draw. The home team made 145 and the visitors 216 for six Wickets in the first innings. With the playing time reduced to a single, day there was no hope of a 'definite conclusion. The New Zcalandcrs easily gained a first innings, lead. Allcolt continued to bowl well after luncheon, and with Cromb's assistance the county was dismissed for 145 runs. New Zealand passed their opponent's score for the loss of two wickets. The Durham batsmen were never comfortable when facing Allcott, who swung in slightly and- then broke back. He bowled unchanged throughout the innings. A feature of the- New Zealand batting was Cromb's century. He batted with confident freedom, and his excellent cover driving brought the majority of his runs. Blunt's off-side strokes were also attractive and productive. The remaining batsmen played care-free cricket and sacrificed their wickets. The New Zcalanders will have a day's rest in London to-morrow, before the match against the Combined Services ab Portsmouth. Details of the scores are as follows: DURHAM.—First .Innings. C.
