YOUNG MAN IMPRISONED.

"A charge of assaulting his father was admitted by Emanuel do Senna, aged 24, in. the Police Court yesterday. He denied a further charge of vagrancy. Detective-Sergeant Kelly stated that on Simday morning accused abused and assaulted his father, who was obliged to 'receive medical attention for minor injuries. Accused also abused his mother atid used obscene language within the hearing of children.
My son last worked two years ago," said Alphonso de Senna. "He has given us to understand that he will never work again, although he is able and strong." Moore and Constable Christiansen said accused did not seek work and associated with undesirable people. The magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, sentenced accused to one month's imprisonment on_ the assault charge and three months' imprisonment on the other count, the terms to bo cumulative. " You will work for four months, anyway," said Mr. Hunt as accused left the dock.
