NURSES' EXAMINATIONS.
FIRST YEAR'S TRAINING.
SUITABILITY OF PUPILS. The Nurses and Midwives* Registration Board has written to the Auckland Hospital Boa?:d pointing out that a number of exceedingly adverse reports on candidates are received from hospital matrons prior to State examinations. It was strongly recommended that matrons should take , the necessary steps to have unsatisfactory pupils dismissed during their first year of training. In a report .to the board yesterday the House Committee said it concurred with the recommendation of the Registration Board that a pupil should be signed on for one year only so that it would be an easy matter for her to be dismissed if she proved unsatisfactory. At the end of the year she could be signed on for a full period if suitable. The committee's report on the matter was
