THE WATER BOARD BILL.

CONFERENCE NEXT MONTH. A further conference of local bodies upon the Auckland Provincial Water Board Bill is to be held early in August. A conference was called on Juno 8 at the request, of the Hon. A. J. Stalhvorthy, who had charge of the bill during the 1930 session of Parliament, and it was then decided to adjourn for two mpnths in order to enable the individual local bodies, the personnel of which was considerably changed at the May elections, to consider the matter in detail. Since then the City Council, which stated its present attitude to the bill at the first conference, has given the suburban local bodies eveiry facility for investigating the financial position of its water undertakipg. It is considered unlikely, that steps will be taken to submit the bill to Parliament again this year'.
