With reference to the statement made by Mr. II Semple (Labour— Wellington East) in the House of Representatives last week, that he had received a circular from a Wellington bank on the subject of rates of interest on fixed deposit, M r - Semple to-day made public the nature of the circular
The circular, issued from the Commercial Bank of Australia, in Wellington, and signed by E. P. Yaldwin, recommends fixed deposits as a particularly attractive form ol investment.
"Motley deposited under the existing rates," it continues, "assures tho investor of a secure and steady return of interest for the term of tho deposit, and such returr. will not bo subject to any reduction of interest rates that ma/'come into force in the immediate future."
