AUCKLAND ROTARY CLUB.

WEEKLY LUNCHEON HELD. The weekly luncheon meeting of the Auckland Rotary Club was held yesterday in Milne and Choyco s Reception Iltill, the president, Mr. H. T. Goldie, presiding over a large attendance. i Feeling reference was mado by tlio president to the loss sustained by Mr. and Mrs. C. Rhodes in the sudden death of their daughter at Philadelphia, and by Mr. J. O'Connor, whose mother died Inst week. A motion of sympathy with the 'relatives was passed, members standing in silence. The speaker for the day was Professor 11. Belshaw, of the Auckland University College, who repeated an* address, entitled " Gold, the Arbiter of Destiny," which he had previously given at the university college.
