CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING.

METROPOLITAN GUN CLUB.

The Metropolitan Gun Club held a very successful shoot on Saturday. * Conditions vvero difficult, but ' some very good performances were witnessed. Following' were the results:— - . Five-birds Sweepstake.—J. Milne (13yds), M. H. Ewing (11yds), J. Irams (13yds), C. E. Hodge (20yds), G. H. Brown (20yds), A. E. Macredie (17yds), L. F. Ramsey (20yds), F. Kay-Stratton• (16yds), L. Peterson tl7yds), and E. J. Schofield (16yds) all shot the possible and divided the stake. Second Match, of IS Birds.—C. E. Hodge (20yds), shot the possible and won the trophy and first prize money. L. Peterson (17yds), J. Imma (14yds),. E. J. Schofield (16yds). P. N. Gallie (16yds) and I. Lomas (13yds) oil scored 14 each and second and third money. There were 23 entries. Third Match, of 10 Birds, gimcrack.— L. Peterson (12 to 21yds), G. F. Keene (12 to 21yds), J. Milne (11 to 20yds). F. Seccombe (12 to 21ydst and L. F. Ramsey (14 to 23yds) all shot the possible and divided the stake. TE AWAMUTU CLUB. [FBOM OUR , OWN CORRESPONDENT. 1 TE AWAMUTU, Monday. The Te Awamutu Guu Club held another clay-pigeon shooting contest during the week-end, and sonic good marksmanship was witnessed, despite tho tricky crosswind experienced at tiroes. Results were:— No. 1 Sweep, sis birds.—L. Zimmerman. 18yds, 6 birds. 1: F. J. Quill, 16yds, 5 birds, 2; L. Marsh. 11yds, 4 birds, 3. No. 2 Sweep, 6 birds.—L. Marsh, 11yds, 6 birds, 1; P.- J. Quin, 16yds, 6 birds. 2: L. Zimmerman, 20yds 4 birds, 3. Marsh and Quinn tied and in the shoot-off Marsh won. llr. Downes' Trophy, 6 birds.—F'. J. Quin, ,15yds, fi birds 1: L. Zimmerman, 18yds. 6 birds, 2; L. Marsh, 11yds, 5 birds, 3. Quin and Zimmerman tied and in tho shoot.off the former won. No. 3 Sweep, (5 birds.—L,. Zimmerman, 10yds, 6 birds, 1; L. M. Marsh, 11yds. .5 birds, 2. . No. 4 Sweep, 6 birds.—F. J. Quin, 16yds 6 birds, 1; L. Zimmerman, 20yds, 5 birds, 2. , , No. 5 Sweep, 6 birds.—L, Harford, 13 yds, 6 birds. I; L. Zimmerman, 18yds, F. J, Quin, 17yds, and L. Marsh, 11yds, each got 5 birds. Another round for the Drysdalo Cup, 12 birds, ,was fired,, and L. Harford proved successful, off 13yds, with 11 birds L. Marsh, 11yds, being second with 10 birds In the aggreftate for this .trophy, Harford and Marsh are now level.
