UNITED POLITICAL PARTY.
OPOTIKI WOMEN'S DIVISION. A largely-attended and very enthusiastic meeting of ladies of Opotiki and surrounding districts was held in the parish hall, Opotiki, on Saturday, the object being to form a local/ branch of the women's division of the United Political Party. Mr. J. J. Moody, chairman of the central men's executive prosided. Mrs. Von Stunner, president of the Auckland women's division, gave an interesting address on the valuable work possible to be done by the women's organisation and explained details of how very great assistance could be rendered to the party candidate. Mrs. Von Sturmer was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. It was unanimously resolved that a women'® branch be formed at Opotiki and officers were elected as follows: —President, Mrs. L." Fox; vicp-presidefit, Miss N. Pile; secretary and treasurer, Mrs. A. Stephenson. A strong Working executive was set up and all the ladies present were formed into an active committee with power to add.
