WORK ON THE WHARVES.
QUESTION OF DISTRIBUTION. AN INDECISIVE VOTE. The annual stop-work meeting of the Waterside Workers' Union, held at Auckland yesterday morning, was well attended owing to the fact that the business to be discussed included a scheme for the more equal distribution of work on the waterfront. It is understood that it was given a poor reception, a considerable number of the men being very hostile to it. The recommendation of a committee was that after a man had obtained eight hours' work lie should stand down until all tho other members of the union had been engaged. When the matter was put to the vote the result was indecisive.
