THE PROVIDENT FUND.
NATIONAL INCOME FOR YEAR. [tiy telegraph.—special reporter.] WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The total income of tho National Provident Fund for the year ended December 31 last amounted to £459,151, according to the annual report presented to the House of Representatives to-day. This amount includes £254,380 paid 1 by contributors and £152,631 in interest. The fund at the end of tho year totalled £2,936.203, an increase of £337,222. The benefits paid out during the year totalled '£169,144 and.,the subsidy paid out of the Consolidated Fund was £51,343.
