ELECTION OF OFFICERS. [from our own correspondent.] WHANGAREI, Tuesday. The annual meeting of the Whangarei Municipal Silver Band was held last evening. Mr. D. Amos presided over a good attendance. The Mayor, Mr. W. Jones, and several members of the Borough Council, were present by invitation. The following officers were elected: — Patron, the Hon. A. J. Murdoch; presi dent, Mr. W. Jones; vice-presidents, Messrs. H. W. Crawford, D, Amos, J. Holmes, J. Jackson, A. T. Brainsby; bandmaster, Mr. A. Salmon; band sergeant, Mr. F. Eccles; custodians and librarians, Messrs. A. Salmon and K. Wilson; corporal, Mr. JV. Stewart; secretary and treasurer, Mr. 0. P. Owens; drum-major, Mr. D. Amos; auditor, Mr. 11. W. Crawford; committee, Messrs. J. Dobson, Isherwood, Ward, Morrish (citizens), Messrs. Flewellyn, M. Stewart, Gibson, Fisher (bandsmen). Mr. H. Flewellyn was elected a life member'of the band.
