In business circles this Dominion ' was regarded as one of the most solvent and reliable customers in the world. The government and local organisation of New Zealand were regarded as very sane and efficient.

(j "Every country in the world is in the grip of the present economic depression, but ,it is more than inspiring to realise how high in thp opinion of Britain, America and Canada our Dominion stands," said the Rev. "To say that we came from New Zealand was enough to bring a smile and a hearty welcome from everyone It sometimes meant all the difference in the little courtesies that were shown.
