STRONG TONE SHOWN. OPENING RATES MAINTAINED. LONDON. July 0. At the wool sales 9749 bales were offered, including 2820 from New Zealand, and about 8200 were sold. Ihoio was' a fair offering of greasy Merinos, a poor selection of scoureds and a moderate selection of greasy crossbreds and slipes. There was a strong tone and opening rates were maintained. THE CITY MARKETS. YESTERDAY'S AUCTIONS, LOWER RATES FOR VEGETABLES. There were no outstanding changes in the prices of fruit at the City Markets yesterday. Apples, pears, lemons and 1 oorman oranges were very dull of sale. Passions and hothouse tomatoes sold at increased rates. A fair demand existed for bananas and Island oranges.
