TWO MEN'S GREAT RECORD.
• Over 5,000,000 miles at high speed serving meals. This is the record held jointly by chief restaurant train attendants on the London and North-Kastein and the London, Midland and Scottish lines. , One is Mr. E. G. Bowie, in charge of the dining car 011 the Newcastle to London business men's flier. He covers 540 miles a day, and has served millions of meals on. wheels during his 23 years' service. " It is all bed and work during the four days a week we travel to London and back?- spending 16 hours a clay in the train," Mr. Bowie, who is known to thousands of travellers, said lately. Mr. Bo.wie's rival is Mr. Robert Cousins, who, in a similar capacity on one of the expresses between St. Paneras and Glasgow, has completed 25 years restaurant car service.
