MORRINSVILLE.
There was an unusually large attendance at tho Strand Theatre, Morrinsville, at the'relief ball held in aid of tho Mayor'B Fund. The people of Morrinsville and surrounding districts had been very generous in their response and tho Mayoress, Mrs. Osborne, and her energetic committee had iipared no pains to make the ball a success. The hall was attractively decorated, the music, supplied by the Syncopates. Band, was thoroughly appreciated, and a sit-down supper was provided, all having been given gratis. Tho Mayor, Mr. W. T. Osborne, thanked all those who had so generously contributed to the success of tho evening. Although Morrinsville was better off than many other places in the matter of unemployment, a great many cases had come under his, observation where a little financial assistance was very necessary. The funds raised would be placed in the hands of ministers oii the different denominations in the town and he felt sure they would be judiciously distributed.
