SAFETY IN EARTHQUAKE.

TAKAPUNA GRAMMAR SCHOOL GRANT FOR ALTERATIONS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —SPECIAL REPORTER, ] WELLINGTON, Thursday. In common with many other educational buildings throughout the Dominion, the Takapuna Grammar School has been the subject of investigation as to structural strength following on the lesson of the Hawke's Bay earthquake. Tho Minister of Education, Hon. H. Atmore, now states that it has been found desirable to make certain structural alterations to render the building entirely safe, and Mr. A. Harris, member for Waitemata, was informed by the Minister to-night that he has approved a grant for this work, which will be put in hand immediately. This is quite independent of the grant recently provided for additions now being carried out.
