AUCKLAND UNION MEETING. BENEFIT MATCH AT OTAHUHU. APPROVAL OF REINSTATEMENTS. With a view to encouraging tlio game locally, tlio management committee of the Auckland Rugby Union decided at a meeting last evening to play a senior game at Sturgcs Park, Otalmliu, on Saturday. The teams to bo engaged ftio Grammar Old Boys and Grafton. A curtain-raiser will be played between fourth grade teams, Otaluihu and Papatoetoe, and a record crowd is oxpocted. The match lias been arranged at the request of members of the Parks Coniinilleo of the Otaluihu Borough Council, which has carried out great improvements at Slurges Park for (ho benefit of the code,
Tho Auckland Military Rifles Band will play selections during tho afternoon, and a collection will bo taken up. This match was intended to bo in aid of the park improvements scheme to jjrovido dressing rooms and an ambulance station, but in viow of tho cessation of relief work it is proposed to apply the proceeds for unemployment purposes.
