• --Twenty horses arrived yesterday to ful-fil-engagements at tho Auckland Trotting Winter Meeting, • to bo held ■ on Saturday and Monday. Most of ■ them ere from Canterbury, but Nelson, Wellington and-Manawatu are also represented.

The Manawatu representatives are W. -A. Price with Native Star and W. Hughes with King's Guard. Most of the visiting horses, especially those from Canterbury, aro very forward as tho result of recent racing. However, no horse*looked better than the Feildingowncd trotter, Natjvo Star, and the trainer expressed tho opinion that tho niaro is now back to her best form. Tomkinson did not bring Erin's Fortuno or Sir Voyage. During the day the trainer visited Otahuhu to inspect Golden Pedro, who recently arrived from Australia.
