WORLD-FAMOUS ENGLISH CATHEDRAL ENDANGERED BY RECENT EARTHQUAKE. Lincoln Cathedral, one of the oldest ecclesiastical edifices in England. Cracks in the flying buttresses were widened by the earthquake and it is stated that the whole front of the cathedral would have, collapsed had the earthquake occurred before the completion of the restoration plan.
