VALUELESS CHEQUES.
FALSE PRETENCES' CHARGES.
LABOURER FOR SENTENCE,
Seven charges of obtaining goods and money io the value of £55 6s sd, by means of valueless cheques and false representations, one charge of stealing a saxophone valued at £SO and another of attempting to obtaiu £7 by false pretences, were admitted by Mervyn David Rowe, aged 25, labourer, in the Police Court yesterday before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M.
Mr. Aekins, who represented accused, said he had already been committed lo the Supreme Court for sentence on other charges. On the first charge accused was convicted and remanded for sentence until July 7. He was convicted and discharged on the others.
