Mr. and Sirs. N. Templer and Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Champtaloup, of Auckland, accompanied by Mr. and Miss Cobbe, of tho Chateau, visited tho ski-ing ground and had luncheon in tho hut. A motor road has been constructed from the Chateau for over one and a-quarter miles up Mount Ruapehu, and when consolidated this will allow of motor traffic within one and a-lialf miles of the new hut.
This road will be a great convenience for tourists visiting the National Park, and will enable hundreds of visitors to enjoy sport in the snow. ■
