NOTE OF OPTIMISM.

"CONDITIONS IMPROVING."

NEED FOR INCREASED EFFORT

"During my stay in New Zealand I have forme'd tho opinion that conditions here are already improving and although this improvement may not bo very evident at present you can look forward to a piuch better tono in the next few months," said Mr. Frank Goldberg, governing director ,of the Goldberg Advertising Agency, Ltd., in the course of an interview yesterday.

Mr. Goldberg said he considered that within the noxt few weeks the depression in Australia would have reached bedrock and that a definite improvement would take place in the spring. Tho present period should not be looked upon pessimistically, but rather as a time of opportunity. To-day people could see their faults and should avoid those same mistakes in the future.

"Those who, .through faulty business methods, have relinquished the field, have given us greater opportunities to forgo ahead on a sound footing," -tho visitor Continued. "Our selling efforts must bo stronger, our policy sounder and our outlook brighter. Wo must take our coats off and get to work. The present is our opportunity artd we must tako advantage of it. The money is in tho country and we must put more selling power into our businesses to make that money earn more money. "Progress has a way of shouldering aside all obstacles and winning through to its objoctive," concluded Mr. Goldberg. "Progress is determined—ruthless sometimes—but tho world is always tho better when the end is attained."
