COALITION UNLIKELY.

FEDERAL. CABINET'S POSITION NEED OF OPPOSITION VOTES. SYDNEY, June 10. The Sydi ey Morning .Herald says that although tho Federal Government will find it impossible to give legislative effect to the economy programme agreed to by tho Premiers' Conference without tho support of tho Opposition a coalition between the. United Australia. Party and that section of tho Labour Party led by tho Prime Minister, Mr. J. 11. Seullin, is unlikely.

Tho Federal Labour members are unanimous in expressing the opinion that there is no possibility of such a fusion. It is admitted, however, that the Ministry is helpless without the aid of the Opposition, and in the event of -the cleavage between tho majority and minority factions of tho Labour caucus becoming more pronounced ai political crisis, involving tho resignation of tho Government will be inevitable within six weeks, unless a working arrangement is made with tho followers of Mr. J. A. Lvons.
