YESTERDAY'S WEATHER.
CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH. Auckland.—The weather was unsettled yesterday. Showers were experienced in the morning and the sky was dull and threatening during the afternoon and evening. A light breeze was blowing from the north-east. The barometer, v after being steady at SO.lOin. during the evening, was falling at a late hour. weather yesterday broke fine and clear, but early in tho morning tho sky became overcast and drizzling rain had set in by the afternoon. The wind was from the north. Christclmrch—The day was grey 'arid cold and there was a sprinkling of rain after lunch. The maximum temperature was 46 degrees. The wind was light from the north-east. The barometer was falling and the reading in the evening was 29.63 in. Dunedin.—The weather was cold and unsettled. The morning was dull, but v fine rain commenced to fall about midday and there was; every indication that a wet period had sot in. The wind was light from the south-west. The maximum temperature was 50 degrees. The barometer fell during the day and the reading in the evening was 29.70iu.,
