<«» A window-cloaner, Arthur Robert, aged 26, of Bermondsey, had a griin ordeal recently, says a London newspaper, when ho found himself standing on the narrow ledge of a fourth-floor window and unable to climb back. Below him was a sheer drop of 80ft. For 20 minutes he held on to the window and when rescued by firemen ho was on -the verge of collapse. * The man's plight was discovered by the manageress of the firm which occupies the floor, and a member of the firm tied Robert's arm to the window frame pending the arrival of the firemen.
