TAXI-DRIVER'S FRAUDS.
TERM OF IMPRISONMENT. Described as a. taxi-driver, Stuart McMillan aged 26, was charged m the Police Court yesterday with fraudulently obtaining from Percy Peter Helming two motorcar tyres, valued at £6, and £3 15s 3d in money, by falsely representing that a valueless- cheque for £9 15s 3d was a good and valid order. It. was further alleged that he fraudulently obtained credit from Annie Logan by incurring a. debt of £1 18s for board and lodging. He pleaded guilty. Detective-Sergeant Kelly said accused had been before the Court for various offences in the past and hs was at present serving sentence of three months imprisonment for illegally converting a motor-car to his own use at Hawera. The magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, sentenced accused to a further term of three months in prison, to be served at the expiration of his present sentence.
