The consideration of " Our Mutual Friend," tlio book chosen for the session, was continued at the fortnightly meeting of the Auckland Dickens Fellowship last evening under the presidency of Mrs. Kenneth Gordon. Mr. Preston Chambers, who was in charge of tho evening's programme, took the opening chapters of the second book. Its readers were: Mr. George Linthwaitc, as Charley Hexam; Miss McCormack, the dolls' dressmaker; Mr. Wolstencroft, how Veneering achieved his Parliamentary electioneering success; Miss Stathani, the armours of Georgina PoMnap; and Mr. W. M. Lusty, Fascinating Fledgcby.
