WALKER WINS AGAIN.
DEFEAT OF PETER LIMUTKIN.
RETURN WRESTLING CONTEST.
LOSER UNABLE TO CONTINUE,
The return match at the Town Hall last evening, staged under the control of the Auckland Wrestling Association, between George Walker and Peter Limutkin, was won by Walker in the fifth round. Limutkin was unable to cotne up again after a back-loop slam. It was a contest full of scientific movements, with a few incidents to rouse the crowd. The match, however, did not provide the thrills of the recent Walkor-Lurich bout. It was evident all along that Walker was too good for his elder opponent. There was a very large crowd present. As usual, Walker had the greater following, but Limutkin also had several supporters. Prior to the commencement of the bout Jack Iliggins, Australian heavy-weight champion, issued a challenge to the winner. Mr. L. Wilson refereed both the professional and amateur contests, the latter of which were of such quality as to place the crowd in good humour. Walker weighed 13st. 91b. and Limutkin 14st. The first holds of consequence were three headlocks by Limutkin, and then Walker sent his opponent sprawling with a reverse headlock. Limutkin bounced the Canadian on the mat three times, creating much diversion. Limutkin was in a cradlo hold at the gong. There was lively work early in the second round, Limutkin securing a body scissors twice and then a double-arm scissors. A little sparring roused the crowd. Limutkin was in danger of a Boston crab at the bell. Nose-rubbing by Limutkin had tho crowd amused again. The Finn was ap plauded for breaking a body scissors arid armbar. Walker then easily freed himself from a double-arm scissors. Three flying mares by Limutkin excited the spectators in round four, but Walker was not perturbed and he had the Finn in difficulties with a reverse toehold. Walker replied to reverse headlocks in the fifth round by hurling his opponent through the ropes, and Limutkin was no sooner back in tho ring than he was thrown heavily with a back-loop slam. Ho was assisted to his corner, which he was unable to leave when the gong sounded for the sixth round, and Walker was declared the winner. Following are the results of the amateur preliminaries:— C. Jones, Bst. 31b., beat S. Brewer, Bst. 31b., by two falls. • Jones gained a fall in the second round with a body press and, with a similar hold in the final round, he took the decision. B. Babu, 9st. 91b., beat C. Anderson, Bst. 121b., on points, after an excellent, bout, in which both showed much cleverness. Kisha Bana, 7st. 71b., beat C. Naden, 7st. 71b., by two falls. Kisha Bana gained a submission fall in the first round from an armbar and decided the bout with a scissors across the chest. A. Kenneth, list. 111b., beat F. Baker. lOst. 131b., on points. Both worked solidly, although Baker's comedy touches were appreciated.
