He is at Paekakariki, but hopes to return to Wellington within a week. Mr. J. G. L. Hewitt,'S.M., arrived in Auckland yesterday morning to preside over an Assessment Court constituted to consider valuations in the New Lynn Borough. Mr. E. Larkin, of London, Mr. L. D. Foster, of Sydney, Mr. P. C. Penberthy, of Dunedin, and Mr. W. G. McClures, Mr. G. B. Owen, Mr. H. E. Nor-icr, Mr. Nelson Jones, and Mr. R. Thomson, of Wellington, are at the Hotel Cargen. Mr. C. W. Weller and Mr. W. F. Jensen, of Wellington, Mr. St. Clair Jounneaux, of Whangarei, Mr. B. G. Ward, of Hastings, Mr. E. R. Putt, of Hawera, and Mr. B. Gray and Mr. E. Allan, of Buckland, are a'/ the Central Hotel.
