DENTAL CLINIC.
PROVISION AT NEW LYNN. OFFICIAL OPENING CEREMONY. The new dental clinic at the New Lvnn school was officially opened by tho Minister of Health, the Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, on Saturday. Mr. A. T. Reiman, chairman of the School Committee, presided over a fair attendance, including Mr. 11. G. It. Mason, M.P. for tho district, and Mr. R. Hoe, who represented tho Auckland Education Board. Mr. Stall worthy referred to the weight of tho social services on the State and on the Consolidated Fund. 110 expressed the hope that in view of the fact that the great majority of tho school children in tho Dominion were still without the school dental service, those fortunate enough to have it would not find it hard to find an additional £3O a year toward the working expenses of the clinic. To establish the service th/oughout Now Zealand would cost approximately £250,000. " If people are taught to rely on any social service, that service ought to bo made as self-reliant as possiblo to maintain itself in times of national stress," Mr. Stalhvorthy said.
