ATTEMPT TO SET RECORD.

NEW BRITISH MONOPLANE.

British Wireless. RUGBY. Juno 5. In accordance with the Air Ministry arrangements for a British attempt to set a record for a longdistance flight, Squadron-Leader Gay ford and FlightLieutenant Bett will attempt a non-stop (light to the Cnpo or to Ceylon late in the autumn. The Fairey-Xapier monoplano which is being built for the attempt will be ready toward the end of July. It will bo tried in August. More than 1000 gallons of fuel will be carried.
