CONTESTS IN COUNTRY.

SURPRISE AT HAMILTON. Rugby competitions were continued in the various country centres of the Auckland province on Saturday. The following results were forwarded by correspondents of the Heralt):— Hamilton. —There was n fair attendance at Rugby Park on Saturday afternoon, when Old Boys and Technical Old Boys met in the Sage Cup competition. The Technical Old Boys team surprised the onlookers by defeating its opponents by 19 points to 9. The game was an interesting one and the scores are a good indication of the run of (he play. In the same competition Frankton outclassed Marist and won by 18 points to 0. In the junior section Frankton beat Old Boys by G points to 0, whilo Technical Old Boys beat Technical School by 14 points to 6.
