REDUCTION ANNOUNCED.

Auckland manufacturers announce a reduction of 2s 6d a ton in the price of phosphatic manures. Manufacturers' special brands have been reduced by 2s a
ton. The reductions are made retrospective to June 1. In a circular to users, the manufacturers explain that the new quotations are subject to costs of rock phosphate not advancing. Superphosphate, which was selling at £4 17s 6d, ex the Auckland works, will now cost £4 15s a ton.
CANADIAN WHEATGROWERS. PLIGHT OWING TO DROUGHT. (Received June 7, 5.5 p.m.) WINNIPEG, June G. The Manitoba Free Press, in a survey of crop conditions, says the outlook owing to the drought is the worst for 29 years throughout the three prairie provinces. The Premier of Alberta, Mr. J. E Brownlee, slates that unless the Government guarantees an initial payment of 50 cents a bushel to the wheatgrowers thero will not be enough money in circulation next autumn to keep the country going. He is arranging for a conference between the Premiers of the three prairie pro vinces and the wheat pool officials. NATIONAL MORTGAGE CO. REDUCTION OF DIVIDEND. (Received June 7, 5.30 p.m.) LONDON, June G. The directors of the National Mortgage and Agency Company have declared an interim dividend of 5 per cent., free of English income tax. Dividend and bonus at the rate of per cent, were paid for five years in sue cession up to 1929. Last year both interim and final dividends were at the rate of per cent, per annum.
COLDSBROUGH-MORT, LTD. DIVIDEND OF IS A SHARE. The secretary of the Auckland Stock Exchange has been advised that the directors of Goldsbrough-Mort, Limited, have recommended a dividend of Is a share for the year, payable in Melbourne 011 June 26. For a number of years the company paid a dividend for the year of 15 per cent., but for the year ended March, 1930, a reduction of 5 per cent, to 10 per cent, was made. The usual interim dividend of 5 per cent, was not paid in December last, the directors announcing that they would defer consideration of a dividend payment, until the figures for the full year were available. NEW ZEALAND'S CREDIT. COMPARISON WITH AUSTRALIA.
A striking comparison between the. credit standing of Australia and New Zealand is given in recent issues made by Auckland local bodies and the Melbourne and Metropolitan Board of Works. The Melbourne Board is at present endeavouring to raise a short-term loan of £626.900, offering'6i per cent., and issuing the loan at a discount of 5 per cent. The Auckland Hospital and Harbour Boards have loans offering on the market at present at par with the rate of interest of per cent. CHICAGO WHEAT MARKET. (Received June 7. 5.5 p.m.) CHICAGO, June 0. Wheat.—June, 67 3-8 cents a bushel; Julv, 59£ cents; September, 59 5-8 cents; December 63i cents. The prices were the highest since May 20, on account of reports of drought in Canada.
