RESERVE AT NORTHCOTE.
RECLAIMING ONEPOTO BASIN. Authority for the Auckland Harbour Board to reclaim land in Onepoto Basin, Shoal Bay, is contained in the Gazette. The authority provides that the work shall be completed by December. Tho work of converting Onepoto Basin into a reserve and sports ground of 43 acres for Northcote and neighbouring boroughs is being undertaken ns an unemployment relief scheme by the Northcote [Borough Council. It is proposed to construct an embankment 470 ft. long and 10ft. wide at the top, with a floodgate at the eastern end close to Sylvan Avenue. It is hoped to have 16 acres of the ground ready for use next year.
