SPAHLINGER TREATMENT.
PROPOSED TEST IN ENGLAND.
A |.r.:liriiinary tpst of the Spnhlinger vaccine trpalment for the prevention of tuberculosis is to he undertaken in England by the Royal Agricultural Society. Thirty calves six months old are to bo used foi the purpose, 20 of which will he vaccinated and the remainder used as controls, and their progress will bo watched at Cambridge by Professor WooUlridgo, Dr. Minett and Dr. Buxton, Ihree well-known veterinary authorities. If Mr. Spalilingor approves of the full details of the experiments, thfc Royal Agricultural Society will provide the cost, which is expected to be £SOO, and the duration of the tests will be 18 niont lis. Sir Morrik Burreli, chairman ot the Veterinary Committee, said that it was intended that the test should be strict, but perfectly fair, and of sncli a character us to satisfy general scientific opinion. Further tests on a larger scalft would doubtless follow.
