UNEMPLOYMENT.

Sir, —May I earnestly appeal to the .Prime Minister in tho approaching session to drastically amend the Unemployment Act by making tho levy payable on a sliding basis of 3d in the £ on all wages earned, such sum to he deducted by the employer by means of stamp to be affixed to all wage receipts. The sum thus received would enable all unemployed men to receive at least four days' work per week. Under existing conditions neither married nor single men can possibly carry on. Looking for other than relief work is like looking for a needle in a haystack. * Charity.
