CRICKET-BAT WILLOW.

Sir,—men in England some years ago I got some cuttings of salix alba from Maldon, Essex, which I planted at my place at Paninure, near tho Tamaki Rjver. They are now fairly large trees, and are probably the particular variety required in bat-making. R. E. Fenton.
