[from our own correspondent.] PUKEKOHE. Thursday. An open tournament held yesterday by the Pukekohe Club attracted 34 competitors. The course was in excellent order. _ The 36-hole medal match, comprising both morning nnd afternoon rounds, was won by Johnson (Pukekohe), with a scoro of 161. Greenbank (Akarana), 165, was runner-up. In the bogey match, comprising the morning's piny, McDermott (Onewhero) and Johns (Pukekohe) tied for first place. ?ach 1 up. King's Birthday championship tournament was held yesterday in perfect golfing weather. There was a largo field, 36 players competing, including golfers from the Hutt, Te Awamutu, Wainiarino and Taumarunui clubs. The championship event, over 36 holes, was won by Wallace (To Awamutu), with a score of 156. Sandel (Taumarunui), who also scored 156, was runner-up, and Fisher (Hutt), also witii 156, was third. As there had been ;v tie the winner was decided on the best card over tha last nine holes of the 36, Wallace returning a 76, W. Sandel'B 77. and Fisher's 78. The medal handicap was won by B. MrMaster (Taumarunui), wi(h 135 net (handicap 23). McMasler also won the afternoon bogey with a card of i up. The morning bogey was won by A. Simmonds, who was all square with bogey. G. Albertson was also all square, but Sim* monds was 1 up over the last nine holes and took the trophy.
